I was invited to participate in the Festival to create a series of site-specific sculptural interventions in Horta. Thanks to the organization team that provided materials and a local blacksmith's workshop for the whole residency, I was able to realize the sculptures on site and propose several artworks out of the initial proposal.
30 silhouettes were fixed during the Festival Maravilha, each one discreetly inhabiting the place where it was placed, creating a kind of invisible map across the island.
Scattered across various points on the island of Faial, Fulvio Capurso's sculptures are carved out of Corten steel sheets, cut as if the metal were paper, light and fragile in the wind. They are shapes that seem to move, changing with the light and with the gaze of passers-by.
